Stella Kalinina

Director & Photographer

Los Angeles , California, United States
I'm a Russian-Ukrainian American photographer based in Los Angeles working on contemplative stories about our connections to each other, our personal and communal histories, and the places we inhabit. As a 1.5 generation immigrant, I relate deeply to immigrant-Americans and our shared yet diverse experiences and stories. I bring empathy, curiosity, and a collaborative approach to portrait-based stories that are firmly rooted in a sense of place. I seek to imbue stories of people with dignity grounded in our shared humanity. My work uses primarily natural light and color for their honesty and lyrical qualities.
